news > Registration for 35th European Mustelid Colloquium is now open!

18th March 2024

The 2024 European Mustelid Colloquium will be held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania 24-27 September 2024.

Old Town, Cluj-Napoca

This September, conservationists and researchers of European members of the Mustelidae family will gather in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, to discuss the latest scientific findings and the challenges faced by this group of mammals.

This year we particularly hope to shine a light on the European mink, a critically endangered mustelid that has undergone severe range contraction but is thought to be hanging on in small areas of Romania. We also welcome presentations on the whole range of mustelid species found in Europe, including otter, badger, pine marten, stone marten, polecats, stoats, weasels and wolverines.

VWT is a member of the Colloquium’s Organising Committee and is looking forward to the conference, which will take place across three days, including an optional field trip excursion and conference dinner.

Registration for the Colloquium is now open! You can buy discounted early bird tickets, which will be available until 30 April 2024.

Call for abstracts for talks and poster presentations.

If you have research or insights on mustelids to share, please get in touch via enquiries@vwt.org.uk. We welcome abstracts on all aspects of mustelid ecology and conservation. Abstract submission is open until 31 May 2024.

Visit the European Mustelid Colloquium website to register and purchase a ticket, download an abstract submission template, and find information about the beautiful city of Cluj-Napoca.
