It has been a year since the VWT and NUIG held a one-day meeting on the pine marten on May 1 2014 in Ireland. Huw Denman was one of our speakers and he kindly agreed to elaborate on his paper relating to managing forestry for the pine marten – this is now available to download as a leaflet here.

This leaflet aims to provide practical measures to protect and benefit the pine marten. It includes guidance on how to assess and minimise potential impacts of forest operations on the pine marten and recommend a set of measures to benefit martens that can be used by forest managers and owners.
