• Workshop reveals more about the otter’s diet

    A group of volunteers rolled up their sleeves to find out more about what otters eat in North Wales at a special workshop last weekend. Over 40 volunteers dissected otter spraints and found more than 23 different prey species in total, including eels, marine and freshwater fish, crabs, amphibians and even birds and mice.

  • Bats hit record numbers at internationally important roost

    Conservationists are celebrating record numbers of lesser horseshoe bats at the largest colony for this species in Europe. This bat colony, found between Bwlch and Brecon, has seen a 10% rise in numbers this year to over 900 bats.
